The Ivory Coast is the world’s largest exporter of cocoa, supplying more than a third of all cocoa beans.
But a severe drought there is destroying crops and profits.
The drought is forcing some farmers to turn to mining, a riskier enterprise, in the hope of striking gold.

Starting with Generation 7, all Liebherr mining excavators will be equipped with Liebherr Power Efficiency (LPE) as standard. This specific engine and hydraulic management system drastically reduces fuel consumption by up to 20%.
Based on constant research and development, Liebherr is able to provide size-equivalent machinery with higher production rates and less fuel consumption.

Cocoa plantations in the Nzi Comoe region in Ivory Coast are slowly being destroyed by illegal gold diggers said to be from Mali, Burkina Faso and Guinea.
